This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Arabic and Hebrew, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections. The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's curriculum. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives, potentially from other Faculties, while the latter years concentrate on advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
