The study of Cardiac Physiology offers a rigorous yet fulfilling exploration into diagnosing and measuring heart conditions across diverse medical environments. Our cardiac curriculum balances academic theory with hands-on clinical training, equipping you with expertise to transform patient outcomes through specialized treatment. Your initial year covers cardiovascular, respiratory, and sleep physiology, followed by focused cardiac physiology studies in subsequent years. You'll master advanced diagnostic tools and clinical data analysis for critical decision-making. Training occurs at Southampton General Hospital and Highfield campus, with practical application in our specialized cardiac simulation lab. The program emphasizes direct patient care through rotations in outpatient clinics, hospital wards, operating theaters, and intensive care units.
Graduates qualify for professional accreditation with both the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHS) and the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP).
