The LLB (Hons) Legal Practice (Exempting) program at the University of South Wales has received formal accreditation from the Solicitors Regulation Authority, equipping you with the essential competencies to pursue a successful career as a solicitor. This innovative program merges the academic and vocational components of legal education into a single streamlined pathway. Recognized among the Top 50 Law Schools in the Guardian League Tables, the University of South Wales is renowned for its outstanding teaching quality and comprehensive student support services. This unique three-year program - the only one of its kind in England and Wales - integrates an undergraduate law degree with the Legal Practice Course (LPC), eliminating the need for a separate LPC year. Upon completion, graduates can immediately commence their training contracts with law firms. The curriculum begins with foundational legal studies alongside LLB students, followed by specialized professional training in years two and three, including practical experience at our Legal Advice Clinic.
A law degree offers exceptional career versatility. Law graduates enjoy strong employment prospects due to their developed abilities in logical reasoning, clear and precise argumentation, and effective application of legal principles and evidence. The LLB (Hons) Legal Practice (Exempting) program uniquely enables students to complete both academic and vocational legal training within three years rather than the traditional four. While many graduates pursue careers as solicitors or barristers, the qualification also opens doors to diverse professional opportunities in sectors such as finance, management, education, public service, media, government, journalism, or advanced academic research.
