This Midwifery program encompasses all facets of routine midwifery practice, complex childbirth scenarios, and postnatal support. The curriculum also addresses broader topics including health education, community health, legal and ethical considerations, and professional standards. As a hands-on vocation, practical skill development forms a crucial component of this midwifery program. During your training, you'll undertake clinical placements across multiple regional healthcare providers, each spanning several weeks. To enhance your career prospects, you'll cultivate comprehensive care competencies. These skills will be developed both in our on-campus Clinical Simulation Center and through specialized midwifery placements. Presently, Welsh Government funding covers tuition fees for UK students. Graduates become eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as fully qualified practitioners.

Midwifery professionals can work across diverse healthcare environments, gaining expertise in maternal and newborn care. Career progression offers multiple pathways: specializing clinically, advancing to consultant midwife roles, or moving into leadership positions such as heads of midwifery services or regional supervisors. Some practitioners choose academic routes in teaching or research. The field has seen innovative specializations emerge in areas like diagnostic imaging, fetal medicine, neonatal intensive care, community health initiatives, and parental guidance programs. International opportunities exist for midwives seeking positions within the EU or globally.
