This program offers a forward-looking, solution-driven approach to environmental sustainability and climate change. Developed in collaboration with industry leaders and delivered by field specialists, the BSc (Hons) Environmental Science degree positions students at the cutting edge of environmental innovation. Through this hands-on program, you'll acquire diverse practical skills in laboratory work, fieldwork, and project management, including collaborations with external partners to enhance sustainability at local, national, and international levels. The curriculum empowers you to create meaningful change by working with communities, businesses, and policymakers to develop sustainable environmental solutions. You'll also build the professional competencies needed to thrive in the expanding green economy while addressing critical environmental challenges.

The environmental job market is rapidly expanding. Climate change impacts - including community resilience, renewable energy demands, biodiversity protection, water security, air quality, ocean health, and waste management - are fueling this growth. Demand for skilled professionals in this field will keep rising. Expertise is particularly needed in climate adaptation, sustainable consumption, green energy and transportation, and environmental policy reform. The degree's core themes equip you with employer-valued knowledge and practical experience for various career paths in the environmental sector. These opportunities may follow immediately after graduation, or you might choose to specialize further through postgraduate study, such as our MSc Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies or MSc Wildlife Conservation Management programs.
