Aeronautical engineers utilize their expertise across all phases of aircraft development, encompassing design, production, testing, certification, and maintaining operational safety and sustainability. This BEng (Hons) Aeronautical Engineering program was crafted in collaboration with industry leaders like the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) to enhance career prospects. You'll explore fundamental aerospace engineering concepts while gaining hands-on training in our advanced campus facilities. When conditions allow and visa regulations permit, final-year students may participate in flight test sessions. The program strongly recommends industry placements, with past UK students gaining experience at organizations like GE Aviation Wales, Airbus Filton, and British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC).

Our connections with regional aviation partners, including GE Aviation, BAMC, Nordam Europe, and TES Aviation Group through the Aerospace Wales Forum, provide valuable networking opportunities. Graduates from this program are sought after both in the UK and internationally across commercial and defense sectors. Alumni have secured positions with prominent employers such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus, MBDA, Emirates, and various defense organizations. Career paths for graduates include roles in aircraft design, certification, project management, and research positions.
