Effective human resource management (HRM) is crucial across all organizational levels. An organization thrives when its workforce is properly managed, inspired, dedicated, and actively involved. Our CIPD-accredited BA (Hons) Human Resource Management program addresses both current and emerging challenges in the HR field, equipping students with insights into the theories and practical aspects of workforce management throughout history and into the future. Designed in alignment with the 2018 CIPD Professional Standards and shaped through collaboration with CIPD members, corporate leaders, industry specialists, and global partners, this course ensures you acquire the essential competencies, attitudes, and expertise valued by HR professionals, enhancing your appeal to potential employers.

The BA (Hons) HRM program is grounded in the CIPD's 2018 professional benchmarks, structured to produce adaptable graduates prepared for the workforce. Learners gain from the strong industry connections the South Wales Business School has cultivated over ten years. These partnerships facilitate valuable hands-on experiences, including expert-led seminars, site visits, career advancement activities, applied research projects, internships, and real-world case assessments. A mandatory 10-week industry placement in the second year immerses students in HR roles with leading regional employers, significantly boosting career readiness. Additionally, The Business Clinic initiative offers developmental opportunities throughout all three years, allowing students to work as junior analysts addressing real business problems. This initiative fosters collaborative ties between students, faculty, and companies while strengthening graduates' marketability by honing critical skills in project leadership, strategic decision-making, and risk assessment within a supportive setting.
