The Foundation Year in History is a key component of a four-year degree program, tailored for students who don't yet qualify for direct admission to the BA (Hons) History program. This preparatory course covers subjects like English, History, and Media studies while equipping you with essential skills and knowledge to advance toward your degree goals. With classes scheduled just three days weekly, the program accommodates students balancing work and family responsibilities.
Throughout your time at USW, you'll benefit from comprehensive career guidance via the Careers and Employability Service, available during and after your studies. Support includes personalized consultations with faculty Career Advisers—conducted in person, by phone, Skype, or email through the Ask a Question service. You'll also gain access to digital tools like psychometric evaluations, career planning assessments, a CV creator, mock interview platform, and application assistance. Our employer network features 2,000+ registered companies seeking USW talent, with weekly job alerts available. The Careers service offers specialized support through three teams: a work experience group for placement opportunities, an employability development unit offering programs like Grad Edge, and an Enterprise team fostering innovation and business startups.
