Enhance your analytical skills by joining two dynamic departments filled with passionate peers and academics, while exploring the interconnected relationship between History and Philosophy.
The foundational first-year History module expands your historical knowledge, covering major events and themes from ancient times to modernity. You'll learn research methodologies historians use, while honing your abilities in research, essay writing, and presentations.
Philosophy's introductory module explores essential philosophical concepts, incorporating diverse traditions including Continental, Analytic, and non-Western thought. This comprehensive approach not only surveys philosophy's sub-disciplines but also sharpens your capacity to examine life's fundamental questions. While preparing students for advanced philosophical study, it also serves as a standalone introduction for those wishing to understand philosophy's global traditions. In subsequent years, you can select from various philosophy modules such as: Continental Philosophy, Logic and Language, Aesthetics, and Moral Philosophy. Additional module details are available on the PPR department website.
