Our research team brings together specialists in organic synthesis, physical organic chemistry, and chemical biology. We focus on creating innovative methods and catalysts for organic synthesis, designing drugs through rational approaches, and exploring fundamental principles of molecular interactions, reactivity mechanisms, and biological processes - particularly those involving DNA replication, repair, and porphyrin biosynthesis.

We maintain robust collaborations with industry leaders such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Concept Life Sciences, Sandexis, and Syngenta, and have successfully launched two University of Sheffield spinouts: Redbrick Molecular and Modulus Oncology.
