The Mental Health Research Unit (MHRU) operates as a dedicated research team within Sheffield's Centre for Health and Related Research (SCHARR).

Our researchers specialize in mental health studies addressing the challenges faced by individuals with various mental health conditions, from mild to severe, along with examining the support systems and treatment services available.

The MHRU team contributes to teaching across multiple programs in the School of Medicine and Population Health, covering undergraduate MBChB studies and various postgraduate courses. We additionally guide numerous research projects and dissertations at both undergraduate and master's levels, while also mentoring PhD candidates.
