Sheffield excels in environmental political thought and equitable climate solutions. Both undergraduate and graduate students can enroll in our specialized course on Climate Change Political Philosophy or opt for practical experience through our Workplace Learning program, partnering with environmental groups while examining related philosophical concerns. Our Center for Engaged Philosophy fosters academic work addressing contemporary crises, including ecological threats. Recent departmental activities have featured public discussions on fair climate policies and youth climate protests, alongside seminars examining land ownership amidst environmental shifts. Collaborations exist with the Leverhulme Centre for Climate Mitigation, where one of our doctoral candidates actively contributes. In alignment with the British Philosophical Association's recommendations, we've implemented sustainable travel policies to minimize academic air travel's environmental footprint.
