Pursuing a Fashion Design degree at the University of Salford offers chances to develop research, design, and construction abilities that bring your creative visions to life in womenswear, menswear, or gender-neutral fashion. You'll utilize dedicated open-access studios, cutting-edge technology, and professional-grade equipment. While building industry-relevant design and technical expertise, you can gain practical experience through placements—our students have worked with top fashion houses like Alexander McQueen, Adam Lippes, Christopher Kane, Iris van Herpen, Jonathan Saunders, Markus Lupfer, Aitor Throup, Anna Sui, Vera Wang, and Viktor & Rolf.
Your first year focuses on applying research, design, and construction techniques through live briefs and studio projects. The second year includes valuable work placements to understand brand operations and studio workflows. In your final year, you'll create an original collection with opportunities to showcase your designs publicly—our students have exhibited at London and New York Fashion Weeks. Additionally, we organize global study trips to major fashion capitals, with past destinations including London, Milan, Paris, Antwerp, New York, Tokyo, and China.
