Our adaptable MSc Language Sciences program is designed for graduates and professionals in language-related fields who want advanced expertise in language studies. You can specialize in one of three internationally recognized areas: language neuroscience, developmental language disorders, or multilingual studies.
Renowned specialists will teach you fundamental concepts in language sciences. After mastering core linguistics and psycholinguistics, you'll select from three specialized tracks:
Language Neuroscience
This track covers cutting-edge developments in cognitive neuroscience, including functional MRI and language-related electrophysiology.
Developmental Language Disorders
This concentration examines language acquisition challenges, including childhood language disorders and adult-onset conditions like aphasia.
Multilingual Studies
This option offers a versatile interdisciplinary curriculum exploring the linguistic and cognitive dimensions of multilingual communication.

Qualification Requirements
Entry requirements: Normally a good undergraduate honours degree (2:1 or above), or equivalent from a university outside the UK, in a field such as linguistics, psychology, cognitive (neuro)science, speech and language therapy, or education. Other degree subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who narrowly miss these entrance requirements (for example a high 2:2) may be considered based on additional relevant experience or expertise.

TOEFL internet-based test - Overall score of 100 with no less than 21 in Listening, Reading and Speaking and 24 in Writing
Pearson PTE (Academic) - Overall score of 76 with no area less than 69
