Our MPharm Pharmacy with Preparatory Year program paves the way for a rewarding career as a licensed pharmacist.
The MPharm degree is the sole qualification enabling registration as a professional pharmacist after completing foundation year training (details in careers section). Approved by the General Pharmaceutical Council, this program adapts to the evolving responsibilities of pharmacists. Current accreditation status and duration can be verified on the GPhC website. We'll provide you with the essential expertise to thrive in this dynamic field.
You'll study human physiology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical design. The curriculum examines various bodily systems, like the cardiovascular system, integrating chemistry, biology, and pharmaceutical principles for each. This foundation allows immediate application of knowledge to patient care starting in your first year.
The program also covers crucial pharmacy practice elements including pharmaceutical law, medication storage, error prevention, prescription evaluation, and professional conduct. Our specialized practice facility features authentic medications and industry-standard dispensing software to develop your practical skills in key procedures and substance handling.
