The Film, Theatre & Television department initiated film studies in British higher education and remains at the forefront through our diverse module offerings.

Your studies will cover cinema's evolution from its late 19th-century origins to modern times, with opportunities to explore everything from mainstream Hollywood to experimental films, alongside emerging digital media and video installations. Through theater courses, you'll analyze works by influential playwrights including Caryl Churchill, Sarah Kane, and Samuel Beckett while examining various modern theatrical expressions, from commercial productions to cutting-edge performance art.
