If you're looking to advance your passion and knowledge in Energy Engineering through postgraduate research, Portsmouth offers an ideal environment to achieve your goals. While significant progress is being made in renewable energy, worldwide reliance on oil and gas is likely to persist for the foreseeable future. Our ongoing research focuses on oil exploration, drilling techniques, extraction processes, and the transportation of crude oil to refineries for surface separation. As a postgraduate research student, you'll contribute to translating our specialized knowledge into practical solutions. We're actively developing innovative methods to enhance petroleum production safety and optimize hydrocarbon recovery efficiency.

Qualification Requirements
The entry requirements for a PhD and MPhil include a good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or a master's degree in an appropriate subject. Equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications may be considered. All applicants are subject to interview.
