Pursue mastery in one or more foreign languages while addressing worldwide societal issues like poverty, hunger, environmental conservation, education access, and healthcare systems. This BA (Hons) International Development and Languages program lets you study either a beginner-level language (French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese) or continue at an advanced level (French, Spanish). Remarkably, these three languages are used by 1.93 billion people globally as either primary or secondary languages as of 2021. Additionally, you can study a second language option including French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, German, or British Sign Language (BSL). Receive comprehensive support to achieve language fluency while gaining practical experience through placements with nonprofit organizations in developing nations. Graduates will be equipped for international careers in government, education, or non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
