You'll undertake an advanced research project under the guidance of a supervisory team matched to your academic interests, with regular meetings to foster your research development throughout the program.
Throughout your studies, you'll critically examine current methodologies, theories, and research findings, applying them to real-world social work scenarios. Our interdisciplinary approach promotes collaborative supervision with experts across the School of Health Professions and other university faculties.
Earning a PhD in social work enhances career prospects in research, academia, and policy development within higher education, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Some graduates opt to integrate their research expertise into direct social work practice as practitioner-researchers.
