Offering an engaging exploration of human neuroscience, this MSc equips students with essential knowledge, hands-on experience, and practical neuroimaging/neurostimulation skills for careers in neuroscience research. Centered around our cutting-edge Brain Research Imaging Centre (BRIC), the program delivers direct technical exposure to advanced neuroscience methods such as fMRI, EEG, and TMS.

These experiences will acquaint you with every stage of neuroscientific research—from understanding the physics behind these techniques to designing experiments, mastering operational procedures, analyzing data, and sharing novel discoveries.

This course delivers comprehensive training in human neuroimaging, preparing you for a successful neuroscience career. Through immersive, practical learning in our state-of-the-art neuroimaging facility, you'll develop highly valued skills in the field. The program further enhances these abilities with advanced training in neuroimaging data processing, signal analysis, and interpretation. This holistic approach covers the full research cycle—from conception to publication—giving you a competitive edge for future academic pursuits.

Qualification Requirements

Most students will hold an honours degree, usually a 2:1, although we would also consider applicants who can demonstrate their ability to thrive on this programme due to professional experience.
This programme provides a privileged route for students seeking to advance their knowledge of psychology. While well suited to students with a background in the field, we welcome applications from students from other backgrounds, such as education, humanities, social sciences, biology, pure science, and engineering.
Please note that this programme does not confer graduate basis for recognition by the British Psychological Society, applicants seeking this recognition should apply to our MSc Psychology.

International students: If your first language is not English then evidence of English proficiency is required, with a normal minimum IELTS score for acceptable English proficiency of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.
