Studies examine how visual elements both represent and influence identity across personal, collective, and societal levels. Investigated periods span from the French Revolution to modern times, encompassing UK nation-building, European fascism's emergence, American Civil Rights struggles, and Cold War/Vietnam War eras. This research examines artistic works that engage with political spheres or analyzes visual media reflecting political environments. Equally significant is exploring how image interpretations transform through political shifts, cultural borrowing, or strategic reuse.
