The Research Centre for Nondestructive Evaluation (RCNDE) is an EPSRC-funded partnership bridging industry and academia to advance Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technologies while aligning research with industry's medium to long-term requirements. Supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), this collaborative initiative includes universities such as Bath, Bristol, Imperial College London, Nottingham, Strathclyde, and Warwick, alongside numerous industrial collaborators. Key industry partners in the ENGd program comprise major corporations like Airbus, NNL, BAE Systems, BP, EDF, E-ON, Network Rail, RWE, Npower, Rolls-Royce, Serco, Shell, QinetiQ, and Renishaw, as well as several smaller enterprises. Selected candidates collaborate extensively with their sponsoring organization, typically conducting most project work on-site.
