Nicholas Alfrey explores the French response to Constable's artwork displays during 1824 and 1826.
Ting Chang authored a publication focusing on European travelers and collectors of Asian art, along with the Parisian museums they established in the late 1800s. Her current research investigates British and French portrayals of China through unconventional mediums rarely studied by art historians, including educational toys, optical instruments, panoramas, and various 19th-century spectacles.
Fintan Cullen analyzes how national identity manifests in depictions of Ireland's colonial ties with Britain from the 1700s to the 1900s. He is currently authoring a book about Irish artists' emigration and displacement throughout the extended 19th century.
Among his publications, Richard Wrigley has produced a detailed study on French artists' encounters with and depictions of Rome during the 18th and 19th centuries. He will organize an exhibition featuring Scottish photographer Robert Macpherson's Roman imagery.
