As the UK engages in fresh economic and political discussions globally, the need for Russian language speakers remains consistently high.
For more than a century, Nottingham has been teaching Russian, building reliable relationships and fostering a robust academic network with alumni. Our extensive research capabilities allow us to provide diverse module options and a curriculum that cultivates profound insights into modern Russia. In addition to essential language studies, you can select elective modules exploring Russian history, society, and culture (including literature and cinema). We also present chances to expand into South-East European historical and cultural studies.
Two study tracks are available:
Beginner Russian learners (including those with GCSE qualifications). You'll undertake an intensive language program aimed at reaching degree proficiency in four years.
Post-A level students. You'll start at a higher competency level
