Our PhD/MPhil Psychiatry program offers you the opportunity to conduct a research project that advances knowledge in Psychiatry. Our faculty members possess world-class expertise in research across child, adult, and geriatric psychiatry. Key research areas include: serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (including their early stages), dementia, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum conditions, attachment issues, self-injurious behaviors and suicide, violent crimes, forensic psychiatry, neurobiological and brain imaging research, and psychiatric epidemiology.

Qualification Requirements
We require applicants to hold, or be about to obtain, an Upper Second class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry to a PhD programme. A Lower Second class Honours degree may be considered if applicants also hold a Master's degree with a Merit classification. We require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall or TOEFL (iBT) 90.
