Our PhD/MPhil Pharmacy Practice program allows you to pursue a research initiative aimed at enhancing pharmaceutical practices, optimizing medication prescribing, and improving patient medication adherence. The program operates through three key research hubs: the Centre for Pharmacy Workforce Studies led by Dr. Ellen Schafheutle, Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety directed by Prof. Darren Ashcroft, and Prescribing and Patient Safety overseen by Dr. Penny Lewis. These centers collaborate extensively to amplify both patient benefits and research outcomes. Our team collaborates with patient organizations, prescribers, and pharmacists to collect essential data, while also utilizing healthcare databases to expand study populations for more reliable findings. Our multidisciplinary team comprises clinical and community pharmacists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, qualitative research specialists, and health economists.
