Our PhD/MPhil Midwifery program allows you to pursue a research initiative that advances knowledge in Midwifery. This graduate research opportunity in midwifery provides students with the chance to collaborate with globally recognized experts conducting groundbreaking research that impacts lives and healthcare systems. We especially encourage applicants from various health and social care fields who wish to investigate related topics. The PhD curriculum includes: expert supervision from two faculty members with relevant qualifications to support candidates through their research journey, ensuring academic goals are achieved and proper training is delivered, development of research and transferable skills, core research methodology courses, self-directed learning, and access to an advisor for personal guidance.

Qualification Requirements

An honours degree (minimum Upper Second (2:1)) or the overseas equivalent in a relevant subject
AND a very good MSc/MPhil/MRes degree from a recognised institution
OR satisfactory work at postgraduate level (which must include some research training) undertaken for the equivalent of at least one year full-time.

We require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall or TOEFL iBT 90. For each of the components of the English test you should meet the minimum requirement of 6.0 (IELTS) or 22 (iBT).
