The PGCE Secondary Science (Physics) program equips you to teach physics to students aged 11-16 or 11-18. You'll learn to deliver the National Curriculum, GCSE, and A-level content. Upon completion, you'll earn a postgraduate qualification and be eligible for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The course combines university-based learning with practical teaching approaches. You'll collaborate with experienced educators, PGCE instructors, and representatives from examination boards and the Institute of Physics. Certain sessions are conducted jointly with the University's science departments to maximize access to academic resources, as well as with Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry and Manchester Museum.
