The PGCE Secondary (German) program prepares you to teach German to students aged 11-16 or 11-18, covering the National Curriculum, GCSE, and A-level. Upon completion, you'll earn a postgraduate qualification and receive recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). University sessions focus on reflective teaching practices. We are committed to enhancing your skills and advocate for dynamic, inspiring language instruction to foster lifelong language learners. Our interactive sessions showcase effective teaching strategies demonstrated by enthusiastic tutors and guest speakers. University instructors bring both exceptional teaching experience and expertise in cutting-edge educational research. With strong collaborations across diverse schools—including comprehensives, grammars, special education institutions, and sixth form colleges—we tailor placement opportunities to match your specific requirements. Many partner schools participate in joint research initiatives with the University.
