With the increasing percentage of the global population residing in cities, the difficulties in achieving fair, inclusive, and environmentally responsible urban futures intensify. These complex issues challenge conventional academic fields including anthropology, architecture, business, economics, geography, history, political science, and sociology - no single discipline alone can address them. The MSc in Urban Studies combines insights and methodologies from various fields to offer an advanced examination of urban development. This cross-disciplinary course integrates multiple analytical approaches, research techniques, and theoretical frameworks to enhance comprehension of how urban centers are tackling these pressing issues.
We welcome applicants passionate about global urban environments. Ideal candidates will demonstrate dedication, involvement, and awareness of contemporary and emerging urban challenges worldwide. While many applicants hold undergraduate degrees in anthropology, geography, urban planning, political science, or sociology, we equally value relevant real-world experience in our admissions considerations.
