Our MSc in Paediatric Dentistry provides comprehensive training to develop the specialized academic knowledge and clinical expertise needed for a career in paediatric dentistry. This intensive three-year full-time program blends taught modules with research components and essential clinical practice. You'll expand your understanding of current literature while learning directly from experienced consultants and specialists in the field. Instruction is delivered through various formats including lectures, seminars, hands-on practical sessions, and digital learning platforms. Clinical experience is gained at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester, with additional opportunities at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Trafford General Hospital for general anaesthesia procedures. Under the guidance of hospital specialists, you'll manage your own diverse patient caseload, treating conditions such as dental anomalies, trauma, and caries. The program includes participation in consultant-led new patient clinics. Graduates will be qualified to work as specialist paediatric dentists or pursue academic and research opportunities in the discipline. Upon completion, you'll be eligible to take the tri-collegiate Membership in Paediatric Dentistry specialty examination.
