Our MSc in Cancer Research and Molecular Biomedicine provides comprehensive training in this field, complemented by hands-on laboratory research placements. This research-intensive master's program emphasizes interactive learning methods including seminars, workshops, small group tutorials, and research placements instead of conventional lectures. The curriculum includes three transferable skills modules focusing on areas like experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific communication, along with two research placements in laboratories led by prominent researchers studying tumor development processes. Key research areas include: examining cell cycle regulation and its disruption in tumor formation, analyzing cell fate decisions in normal versus cancerous cells, and studying how cellular signaling affects gene expression and how this process becomes defective in cancer cells. For those interested in expanding their knowledge beyond molecular cancer research, there's an option to complete a research placement in other molecular biomedicine specialties.
