Our MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature provides a rigorous academic environment where you'll join a vibrant community of scholars exploring 20th and 21st century literary works, cultural movements, and critical theories. This intensive program challenges students to examine diverse aspects of contemporary writing through specialized modules covering modernist literature, postcolonial narratives, countercultural expressions, American literary traditions, and current fiction trends. The curriculum emphasizes critical analysis of texts within their historical and cultural frameworks, paying particular attention to how literary forms intersect with social and political dimensions. Through close reading and theoretical engagement, we investigate how literature engages with and represents issues of sexuality, social class, gender identity, and racial dynamics.
