The Clinical Psychology Doctorate is a three-year academic and practical training program developed through partnership between the University and clinical psychologists in the northwest region of England. This program prepares graduates to perform the full range of clinical psychologist responsibilities across diverse healthcare environments. Alongside intensive training in cognitive-behavioral methods, the curriculum covers psychodynamic interpersonal therapy, systemic approaches, neuropsychological practice, team leadership, research methodologies, and additional clinical techniques. The program maintains a critical perspective toward all theoretical models. Research forms a core component, with students engaging in projects connected to the Division of Psychology and Mental Health's ongoing studies. Recognizing that most graduates will join the National Health Service, the program specifically prepares clinical psychologists to address patient needs and meet organizational demands within the NHS and collaborating healthcare organizations.
