The Global Development Institute tackles worldwide disparities through top-tier, cross-disciplinary research and education, aiming to foster a fair society where everyone, including generations to come, can thrive. With over 70 faculty members and approximately 700 students from nearly 40 nations, the Institute stands as one of Europe's largest and most varied hubs for development studies, making it an ideal setting for this innovative undergraduate program launching in 2023.

The BSc in Global Development examines the social, economic, and environmental issues confronting the Global South—regions like Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Yet, understanding these challenges for communities, businesses, and governments requires examining their ties to the developed Global North. Contemporary problems like climate change, inequality, and social justice transcend borders, demanding a worldwide outlook. The program equips students to assess these concerns through diverse lenses, drawing on interconnected fields such as geography, political science, and economics.
