Our pre-dental foundation program in Dentistry is designed for academically strong students who lack the required science background for direct entry into the five-year BDS degree. You'll complete your foundation year split between the University and Xaverian College, progressing to the five-year BDS program upon successful completion. This comprehensive program combines clinical training with fundamental and advanced dental sciences to equip you for a professional dentistry career. After developing core skills in the University's training facilities, you'll quickly transition to patient care at both the University Dental Hospital of Manchester and nearby outreach clinics. The program emphasizes teamwork and patient-focused care, ensuring you develop professional, ethical, and safe clinical practices. We also cultivate reflective practitioners dedicated to continuous professional development throughout their careers.

  • Train as a dentist by combining the study of basic and advanced dental sciences with extensive clinical experience in our dental hospital and local clinics.
  • Study at a university ranked in the Top 10 in the UK for dentistry (QS World University Rankings 2025).
  • Have the option to study for an intercalated BDS degree , where you interrupt the course for a year to achieve a BSc award in a related subject.
