The BA(Econ) is an interdisciplinary program that lets you focus on Economics while also exploring other social sciences like philosophy, political science, and sociology.

You can choose between advanced Economics topics like Econometrics and Mathematical Economics or blend Economics modules addressing inequality and environmental issues with broader social science subjects. This approach helps cultivate a comprehensive perspective on societal challenges.

The Development Studies track is led by specialists from Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Social Anthropology, and Statistical Analysis.

This program provides a robust foundation for analyzing development challenges and their potential solutions.

It's an interdisciplinary academic area examining critical development concerns and policy alternatives, including:

economic disparity,
deprivation,
food insecurity,
quality of life.
All social science pathways, including Economics and Development Studies, share a foundational first year, giving you the option to change your specialization if you develop interests in other social science fields.
