The Liberal Arts represent one of humanity's oldest intellectual traditions, focusing on cultivating knowledgeable, independent thinkers. The BA in Liberal Arts with International Study program at The University of Manchester helps students, through specialized modules and diverse elective options, to address both local and global issues while examining fundamental concepts like humanity, ethics, values, and truth - essential for becoming an informed, active participant in modern society.

Key Liberal Arts courses - exploring subjects such as humanities history, persuasive communication, moral philosophy, and civic duty - achieve these objectives via interactive lectures, seminars, tutorials, and research workshops that emphasize problem-based learning and cross-disciplinary approaches.

These courses benefit from partnerships with cultural landmarks including the John Rylands Library, the Science and Industry Museum, and Manchester Museum, where arts and humanities concepts reach diverse audiences beyond academia.

During their final year, students can collaborate with Manchester-based community organizations, applying skills developed throughout the program to create impactful, real-world research projects.
