Middle Eastern studies has evolved into a diverse academic field that spans multiple disciplines and cultures, drawing significant attention due to political, cultural, and social factors. The program incorporates both primary sources in English translation and secondary English-language materials. By combining different academic perspectives and theoretical frameworks, this course provides a comprehensive approach to exploring the region's history, literature, cultures, and religions. Required courses and numerous electives will give you both broad and detailed knowledge of the Middle East, while introducing modern techniques for studying its culture, religion, literature, and history. Additionally, you can choose to learn introductory levels of multiple Middle Eastern languages or focus on mastering one language through your second year.
