Our Sociology and Social Policy program boasts a vibrant and growing postgraduate research community, focusing on three key domains: Urban environments, cultural dynamics, and renewal:- A special emphasis lies on examining how Liverpool's 2008 European Capital of Culture status influenced social, cultural, and economic landscapes, alongside studying culture-driven renewal's effects on social integration. Faculty expertise shines in Critical social policy:- This field explores crucial issues surrounding welfare systems, healthcare, government social services, economic disparity, and fairness in society. Additional strengths include studying life stages - from childhood and adolescence to elder years. The department's Research Clusters investigate critical themes including fairness in society, criminal justice, public health, social welfare, housing, economic disparity, and how political authority functions across local, national, and international spheres.
