This program delivers a comprehensive education in medical and research-oriented life sciences, with adaptable module options that let you customize aspects of your degree to align with your specific interests. The Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBiol) spans four years, beginning with the three-year BSc in Biomedical Sciences before progressing to an advanced fourth year, contingent on academic achievement.
During the initial three years, you'll explore diverse subjects spanning Biomedical Sciences disciplines such as Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Physiology, and Pharmacology. You'll also have chances to focus on specialized areas and conduct independent research projects.
The fourth (Master's) year focuses on refining research capabilities and professional skills for students pursuing advanced research careers (e.g., PhD studies or industry roles) or those aiming to strengthen their qualifications. Participants will collaborate with a research team on a substantial project. Additionally, students may pursue a six-week summer research internship domestically or abroad, or opt for industry placements or enterprise engagements in their final year.
