The MA in Media, Culture and Everyday Life provides a dynamic platform to examine modern discussions surrounding how today's media shapes daily experiences. This program investigates both the transformations and opportunities created by digital media in 21st-century living, while also considering historical perspectives. Through analyzing the interconnectedness of media and daily existence, the curriculum tackles fundamental issues of modern society and societal evolution - from perceptions of space, time, and movement to media's influence on personal identity, historical preservation, and the environmental/social consequences of digital advancements.
Rooted in pioneering research from cultural, media, and communication studies, the program adopts an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating insights from cultural studies, anthropology, philosophy, cultural geography, visual culture, urban studies, gaming, and memory studies.
The curriculum centers on three key modules that explore:
Examining both historical and current media forms to comprehend the roots of today's media landscape and how media evolution is created, perceived, and adapted.
