The curriculum includes essential subjects in geology, geophysics, and physics, along with specialized geophysics electives. Key components involve practical geophysical techniques, exploration methods (especially seismology), planetary-scale geophysics, and inverse theory applications.

Designed to deliver advanced geophysics education with geological foundations, this degree also builds core competencies in physics and mathematics. No prior geology background is required, making it ideal for launching geoscience careers. Graduates gain strong qualifications for roles in geophysical data analysis (environmental, engineering, and resource exploration) and research-focused geological fields.

Field studies currently include sites in Wales, Spain, and Tenerife. In your final year, you'll join a research team to complete a substantial geophysics project, providing valuable experience for academic or industry research paths.

After your first year, you may have the option to switch to a Geology degree program.
