Architectural Engineering is designed for students passionate about bridging architecture and structural engineering. Upon completing this program, you'll gain the expertise to implement engineering concepts in the planning, design, and construction of built environments. This multidisciplinary degree combines civil engineering and architecture, jointly offered by the School of Engineering and the School of Architecture.
Architectural engineers specialize in designing various building systems and critical infrastructure components, with emphasis on essential domains.
Throughout your studies, you'll develop a versatile skill set for designing structures, bridges, and vital infrastructure. The program blends the technical rigor of civil/structural engineering with a comprehensive understanding of architectural, social, economic, and environmental factors in design solutions. Accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) - including the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Permanent Way Institution - this program fully meets the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration and partially fulfills Chartered Engineer (CEng) criteria. For full CEng accreditation, candidates must complete an additional accredited master's or doctoral program.
