Our Music and Technology program lets you focus on professional fields like recording and production, electronic music, sound design, and composing for films and video games. You'll work in newly upgraded, professional-grade facilities featuring multiple recording and production studios. The curriculum covers technical aspects like sound engineering and music production while encouraging creative and experimental uses of music technology. You'll strengthen your technical skills with specialized courses in theory, history, and context, with the option to enhance your performance abilities in either contemporary or classical music.
In addition to technology-centered coursework, you can select from diverse modules in both popular and classical music. This flexibility allows you to study performance, composition, the music business, or specialized subjects like music psychology and scoring for films, television, and games.
Your first year includes three required modules covering the fundamentals of sound technology, recording, production, and electronic music. During your second and final years, you can concentrate on your preferred specializations and complete an independent project in creative music technology.
