Our Bachelor of Science in Music Technology and Production is designed to inspire and prepare future music producers, audio engineers, and sound designers by providing the creative and technical expertise necessary for success in music production and audio post-production careers.
While emphasizing music creation and production, the program also explores sound and music's expanding influence across various creative industries such as film, television, gaming, and software development.
Throughout the course, you'll investigate diverse topics including:
Music production techniques
Studio recording practices
Songwriting and composition
Audio mixing and mastering
Sound design and field recording
Post-production audio
Game sound implementation
Audio plugin creation and effects processing
Students enhance their abilities through hands-on creative projects, assembling a comprehensive portfolio across multiple audio disciplines under the guidance of instructors with extensive industry experience. Qualification Requirements
In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, you should have:
a minimum of three A levels at grades BBC or equivalent (DMM at BTEC) including relevant music or music technology subjects
GCSE English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
If you don't have traditional qualifications or can't meet the entry requirements for this undergraduate degree, you may still be able to gain entry by completing our Music Technology and Production (including foundation year) BSc (Hons).
We encourage applications from international/EU students with equivalent qualifications. We also accept mature students with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Formal qualifications are not always necessary since life and work experience can be considered. In such cases, we ask for a CV and supporting letter.
Suitable applicants living in the UK will be invited to a portfolio interview. Applicants living outside the UK will be required to submit a portfolio of works digitally.
