Clinical Animal Behaviourists collaborate with veterinarians to assist pet owners in addressing behavioral issues by diagnosing problems and implementing customized behavior modification plans.
This Master's program adopts a research-driven methodology, enhancing students' theoretical understanding and practical abilities for managing companion animal behavioral challenges. The program is led by distinguished specialists, including Professor Daniel Mills, Europe's inaugural veterinary behavior professor and a recognized expert by both European and Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons standards.
Instruction combines academic research with clinical practice, offering students hands-on learning through actual case studies from the Department of Life Science's veterinary behavior clinic. The coursework directly reflects the ongoing investigations of the Department's Animal Behavior Cognition and Welfare Group. Participants are supported in cultivating research competencies and may collaborate with faculty on significant initiatives, often supported by research grants, philanthropic organizations, and industry partners.
