The University of Lincoln provides MPhil and PhD research programs across diverse fine and contemporary art disciplines within a dynamic creative environment. Students can access numerous training programs to enhance their research capabilities. We encourage proposals exploring contemporary fine art practice, modern art theory, art history, performance art, and community-focused artistic initiatives.
During their MPhil or PhD studies, candidates conduct self-directed research in their chosen field with guidance from academic supervisors. Opportunities include showcasing work in exhibitions and seminars, participating in conferences, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Research candidates can become part of the School's active research communities and engage in the Critical Encounters Research Series alongside faculty members and fellow postgraduate students.
