Lincoln's MBio Bioveterinary Science program enables students to investigate the scientific foundations of animal health and disease. This comprehensive program integrates fundamental animal science principles with hands-on laboratory work, field studies, and computational analysis. The curriculum covers essential aspects of animal health, including pathogen and parasite life cycles, infectious diseases, immune responses, preventive strategies, diagnostic methods, and therapeutic approaches. Learners can examine these topics across diverse animal categories, from exotic and domestic pets to livestock, wildlife, and even human health applications. Third-year students may participate in an international field experience through the optional 'Overseas Field Course' (details available in the Features section). The MBio program includes a fourth research-focused year following the standard three-year BSc, allowing students to advance to Master's level study and enhance their competitiveness in professional fields.
