The School of Mathematics and Physics operates from specialized facilities within the University's Isaac Newton Building, delivering diverse programs in both fields. Our Mathematics curriculum delivers core training in mathematical principles, encompassing both theoretical and practical applications, while Physics programs integrate foundational and experimental physics with comprehensive mathematical and computational instruction. The foundation year options serve as an alternative pathway to these complete degree courses.
After successfully finishing the Science Foundation Year, learners advance to the initial undergraduate level of their selected degree. This results in a four-year study period for a standard bachelor's degree, extending to five years for those pursuing an integrated Master's program. Graduates' final qualifications will denote the complete program name, such as BSc Physics with Science Foundation Year.
